Lisboa está entre as cidades mais seguras para visitar em 2026

The city of Lisbon was considered by Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection as one of the safest cities to travel to in 2026.

Lisbon is included in the ranking of the safest cities to travel to in 2026, compiled by Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection.

The capital of Portugal ranks in 8th place, for being a “safe and less visited (for now) city than Barcelona”. As for warnings, Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection points to the “heat”, reminding that “Lisbon, in the summer, can be brutal”, suggesting “drinking plenty of water”.

The ranking is led by Reykjavík (Iceland) where GeoSure Global, a source used in the preparation of the study, in addition to Numbeo and The Economist and GeoSure Global, says it is “like a stadium, where there is no bad seat”, according to the report by Publituris.

In the rest of the Top 10, besides the capitals of Iceland (1st) and Portugal (8th), there are also Copenhagen (Denmark), Zurich (Switzerland), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Honolulu (Hawaii), Sydney (Australia), Barcelona (Spain), Tokyo (Japan), and Dublin (Ireland).

In addition to the ranking of the safest cities, the report also identifies global trends in how travellers perceive safety. In this respect, health and emergency response continue to be top priorities, and there are also different perceptions of safety among age groups. Millennials (25–44 years old) value more adventurous and cosmopolitan destinations, while Generation Z prefers places that combine inclusion and vibrant urban life. Mature travellers (65+) prioritiae infrastructure, health, and low crime rates.
